Helping Hands Food Pantry

Helping Hands continues the good work of the St. Vincent De Paul Society.
After 22 years of faithful service to the community, members of our St. Jude St. Vincent DePaul Society have prayfully decided to retire.  The parish sincerely thanks all of the members involved in the St. Vincent DePaul Society.  Through the years, these selfless folks have been responding to the “emergency” needs of the poor in our community. This has always been done in the spirit of quiet, loving service, and for this we are all very grateful.

The good work of this Society will continue with the recently formed Helping Hands group. The poor boxes at the entrance of the church will be administered by Helping Hands. Please make your check payable to Helping Hands. So that we may be able to continue to respond to the poor of our parish and community in this economic difficult time, your continued support through Helping Hands is greatly appreciated.

Helping Hands has opened a food pantry in the trailer next to the Catholic Charities building across from the main school entrance.  We are open to the public on the 3rd Saturday of every month from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m.  We are also open on the Tuesday evening after the Saturday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

We are members of the Second Harvest Food Bank.  Helping Hands members have attended training sessions at Second Harvest on food safety and operations.  We have income guidelines to determine who qualifies for food based on Ohio's requirements.

We conduct monthly food collection at church on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of evry month.  In addition, you may drop off perishable foods, frozen foods and dairy products at the trailer on the Thursday before every 3rd Saturday from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. or by appointment.  Cash donations are also very welcome.  We'd be happy to shop for you!  Make your checks payable to "St. Jude Helping Hands" and drop in the collection basket or in the poor boxes.

Our goal is simple.  Give food to people who need it!  Especially St. Jude parishioners.  For more informations, you may call our voicemail at the rectory and leave a message and someone will return your call or contact Darlene directly.
