The primary responsibility of the Spiritual Life Commission is to assist the parish community by providing quality liturgical experiences. This commission assists in the development of other opportunities for spiritual growth and also coordinates the work of the liturgical ministries such as Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist, Lectors, Choirs, Greeters, Ushers, Servers and also Devotional programs offered.
Altar server positions are open to children who have finished the fourth grade through high school senior. Training sessions are available in the fall and spring.
The Art and Environment Committee is responsible for the decoration of the church to express the theme of the liturgical season.
St. Jude offers a number of musical opportunities - Contemporary Choir, Traditional Choir, Youth Choir and Handbell Choir.
The ExtraOrdinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist in the distribution of the Eucharist at all the liturgies. Assistance is needed because communion under both species is provided at all our liturgies. Monthly schedules are made out accommodating particular preferences.
The Ushers help people find seating, take up the collection and distribute bulletins after Mass. The Greeters personally welcome everyone. This simple and yet important ministry of hospitality sets a welcoming tone for our liturgical celebrations.
Lectors proclaim the Word of God in the first two readings of the liturgy. They also read the petitions at each mass. This is a wonderful opportunity to make the Word of God come to life for all.
