Stewardship Committee
Everything we have belongs to God. With grateful hearts we take
care of and nurture all the gifts that God has so graciously bestowed
upon us. God has a plan for these gifts, if we would only acknowledge
our dependence on Him. The Stewardship Committee's main focus is
to energize the parish with programs to help parishioners seek what
and where their talents can be used. They accomplish this by educating
our community on the stewardship way of life, by providing opportunities
for the parish to discover their God-given gifts, help match these
gifts with the parish/community needs, develop stewardship training
opportunities, and recognize and celebrate our volunteer groups.
Finance Committee
The Finance Committee is composed of parishioners with expertise
in budgeting, accounting and financial planning. Meetings are spent
setting the parish budget, working on school tuition and in general
making sure that financial resources are well managed.
"The Grapevine"
"The Grapevine" is the quarterly parish newsletter. It
is an effective way for all parishioners to receive news about parish
life. Articles range from a column by the pastor, to spotlighting
various parish organizations, to news about students in the day
school and PSR program. Since the newsletter is produced in house,
its production staff always needs writers, editors, photographers
and computer people. Anyone with one or more of these talents is
welcome.
Money Counters
The money counters consist of six teams with several members on
each team. Each team counts two Sundays consecutively and then is
off ten (10) weeks. New counters are most welcome and will be added
to present teams as feasible.
Parish Events
St. Jude Parish holds several large special events meant to help
foster a strong sense of community among its parishioners. Some
of these events include the Annual Parish Festival/BBQ, and the
Christmas Tree Sale. It is volunteers that provide the creative
energy and muscle needed to make these events successful and all
are most welcome to get involved and participate in these events.
The Welcoming Committee
The Welcoming Committee reaches out to new members of our parish
and invites them to join a group which will interest them. They
also make an effort to get in touch with inactive parish members
to see what can be done to invite them into active membership.
