“Respecting the Deceased” Day # 2- Liz Wenner Gold Award Project – Saturday, May 19

Parishioner Liz Wenner, a Senior Girl Scout in Troop 50409 is working on her Gold Award Project. The Girl Scout Gold Award is equivalent to the Eagle Scout Award for Boy Scouts.

The project is called Respecting the Deceased. The project consists of Liz making a team and heading to local cemeteries and adopting a section by cleaning headstones there that are not being maintained. She came up with this project idea while going to cemeteries with family and realizing that not all the headstones are kept clean or the families no longer visit them.  I want to show respect towards the deceased and all they did for us.

Liz would like your help by donating your time to help make this project a great success.

If you need Service Hours, the Troop Leader will be happy to sign your service hours paperwork for your school.

If you could bring any of the following supplies/tools to the event day, that would be most helpful:

  • Scrub brushes
  • Buckets
  • Toothbrushes
  • Granite Cleaner Polish
  • Cleaning Rags
  • Work Gloves

Custom patches will be handed out to all Girl Scouts and Cub/Boy Scouts that participate in this event.
