Thanksgiving at the Pantry

Although the calendar only says October, we are already getting prepared for our biggest food pantries of the year – Thanksgiving.

Our Thanksgiving food pantries will be Saturday, November 18 and Tuesday, November 21.  On these days our clients receive their Thanksgiving ingredients and food for the following weeks.  By far this is our biggest food pantry of the year.  Last year over 500 households came to St. Jude Food Pantry looking for food to feed their families.  That is an incredible number of people to feed.  But we did it, THANKS TO ALL OF YOU!

This year we anticipate the need will be as great, if not greater, so we are seeking the following items:

560 Turkeys

560 Pies-Pumpkin and Apple

1,120 Stove Top Stuffing

1,120 Canned Green Beans

1,120 Canned Corn

560 Instant Mashed Potatoes (Family Size)

1,120 CANS of Turkey Gravy

560 Cans of Fruit Cocktail or other canned fruit

560 Packages of Noodles

1,120 cans Cream of Chicken Soup

1,120 Boxes of Mac & Cheese

1,120 cans of Pork and Beans/Baked Beans

560 Hunt’s Pasta Sauce (24 oz. CANS)

560 Boxes of Spaghetti Noodles

If you would like to help feed the hungry, drop off donations at Helping Hands Headquarters Mondays from 3-5:30PM.  You may drop off donations on Monday, Nov. 6, Thursday, Nov. 9 and  Friday, Nov. 10 from 3-5:30PM.  We will also  be open on Nov. 13, 14, 15, 17, 19 and 20 from 3-5:30PM. You may also leave donations in the white barrels in the Gathering Area, or call the Helping Hands office at 440-366-0118 to schedule a drop off time.  As always,  monetary gifts are welcome and appreciated and can be dropped off or mailed to the rectory.  Thank you for your support during this Thanksgiving.
